Open a 317

TBH we did not create such a successful 317 and you get changing your version.

now a 317 is where all the people are.

The PVP is simple and not demanding

I was thinking that you could re open the 317?

Spark up the PK, PVP and Mini games in it.

and people would come in, play it, and then maybe play the 508

Im only agreeing if its gonna be like the other 317s with mass epicness and not a PK that fails.
(with mass epicnes I mean working veng, d claws + emote etc etc)

the 317 should be reaaally good source but otherwise, i suggest updating 508 more

317 pvp server (i gave one to john) and a skilling 508...

Here are some advantages:

Players dont like to download stupid cache, and john you know how gay that webclient shit is with teh cache download and problems.

with 317 i believe you don't need to download a cache to play on webclient, so then we could have a webclient on the main page.

Basically everyone has a 317, so they can all "play" the server, but for the customs just to use ours.


I know you wanted to try 508's, and you have, and you said yourself you dont have much time for powerscape, and a 508 needs alot of time.

So a 317 would just be the most beneficial anwer here.

True but on the old source the PK sucked balls

I Disagree with this.
From what I've seen only people who like playing the really tacky servers - with a ton of different coloured customs play these (delta)
Where all the players are now is 562/614 because they have an almost perfect pking system (minus a few things) AND they're almost up-to-date with real RS.


1. Who really gives a s*it about downloading a cache? if they're bothered maybe we can work on getting a way of auto download??
2. People don't just play servers for the tacky customs.
3. I've only ever seen 1 Really good 317, and they got closed down by JaGeX
4. John said he's never changing source again.

I agree wuth Jamie ad 562 or 614 pk server is the best. Right now there is a 614 that i will not mention by name that is fully pk me jamie and Robin play it. It is really good. Like 100's of people play it and its really up to date. It is a spawning server and you dont loose stuff when you pk. You think that would be a crappy server but like i said 100's of people.

Lol less so now but yea, they've got a min of 25players on at all times.

However it'd lag like a .. if we didn't have a VPS

Look John i know you don't want to switch. But 508 is way outdated and you even said your self there are a lot of limitations with 508. Switching up might be good maybe not to 614 but at least 562 because they have been around for a while and a lot of bugs have been taken out of them. We are spending alot of time finding and fixing glitches when we could be spending time on customs, mini games, quests, and actually playing! I don't know maybe you should not get rid of the 508 and put up a new client for testing only? and we staff will help you develop before getting rid of 508?

Thing is, John spends maybe av. 30hrs a week working on the server which is a hell of a commitment therefore it's hard to let go of such work.

Yeah well when you get a Job and you spend most your life doing that job and then you get a promotion offer are you going to say no because you spent most your life doing the less paying job?

but,switching maybe isnt needed. we know john has worked hard,maybe all we need to do is work harder. yes i said WE this comes in because we also expect just john to do it. yes we made a thread of what needs to be done,but maybe if john made it open for maybe someone else to code too,or someone else to host it might not be so hard for john to worry about the server all the time.

This isnt a promotion though. I get nothing more out of it and just lose work

It was up to john to keep it private.
I've always asked for open source.

But since its his computer thats harder than it seems.

I would be happyier if u put on an auto-downlad cuse' i,and many others, dont want to download this ****.

Using the Client (non-webclient) you would have to manually download it, which is what we recommend because we're no longer updating the webclient so it doesn't have any of our more recent customs.

Still, every other server uses auto download and no hassle.

If you guys want to hear my opinion, Read on.

Nobody Really likes a 508 anymore, Because there is always better things like 525 and 562.

I'n my opinion the most traffic that Were going to get is By using a 474 Auto-download Pk/economy Source. Just look at The Top people on http://www.mmorpgtoplist.com/runescape .... Pwnxile,Helix-world,Rune****, Are all the same source. Look how many fucking outs pwnxile has? It's also a very stable pking. Just try out one of those sites (except Helix-world, There now down because The owner left all of us... ) Currently i'm using Rune-****.com/ They have a spawning server and an economy server. I'm sorry for any/all the advertising that was said here. I just wanted to prove a point at how successful All those 474's are.
