for the most of a week now the forums hasn’t changed at all (post
wise.) so one question. what the hell is going on? we are losing
players and losing activity.
basicly what jamie said is this
"i think we should close the server/forums sort it out of bugs/spam.
So losing this forums, and making a new one,and sorting the server out
of every bug/glitch."
my plan is we have 2 forums admins.
and 4 server testers -john included obv..-
the 3 must be staff and trusted.
once this is done we need to get more traffic to get on runelocus.
also a note to john:you will have to quit your life for a week or
two..![Razz](https://2img.net/i/fa/i/smiles/icon_razz.gif)

jamies thing
Okay some ideas:
1. Get people on server, and get them to list all the problems they
could find with it so that we know what to fix with it (sure crash
will find the most) (post here
2. Close the server (or keep the current one open while working on
another duplicate of it - so we don’t lose players), do a complete bug
fix and sort out major problems with server
3. Get new forums - the current ones are a complete mess and they
just don't seem to be working to well for us. This might entail
getting a new domain of some sort and then using some better forum
software (as a temporary solution could use a "cracked" version of vB
and then get vB when we have some more donations etc.)
4. Possibly rebrand 'Powerscape' to something else that stands out
more (yes I know this might take a little while to rebrand everything)
however I think that we might have somehow gained a bad brand name
from something or other
5. Register Powerscape (or if we choose to rebrand w/e it becomes) on
as many voting sites as possible; I suggest RuneLocus, Rune-Server,
Moparscape and Frugooscape (might think of more soon) - We aren't
getting enough traffic at the moment from the site we are on - we've
dropped off the first page and because the website doesn't appear to
be very good you cannot view the second. Also because we closed (and
maybe rebranded) we might be able to say that we are a new server just
opening, which might mean that we can gain new players that want to
join a new server and stick with it from the beginning.
6. Open server for 'beta' testing with listed problems sorted and
sort out the bugs (giving warnings that chances are that accounts will
be lost when we switch to being fully on), this would then give us the
excuse for not being 24-7 and time to gain donations for VPS and the
purchase of forum software.
7. Look at the economy and everything and decide whether we should
reset accounts & move onto the real version or just move on (this
would be once we're happy that the 'beta' version is bug free enough
to release0
8. Keep voting for the server and making videos etc
----
Ranks, groups and that crap (staff):
Moderators (in-game, forums and global):
- There should be maybe 3 of these to start with and increasing with
number of players (not sure the player to mod ratio but it's not as
high as Admins and the ratio would be the same number of forum Mods
and in-game Mods and global mods should be 1 for every 3 other type of
Mod at most)
- In-game Moderators would have the same powers that they have in-game
now and they wouldn't have any powers on the forum. They would be
limited to having a forum rank rather than being grouped
- Forum Moderators wouldn't have any powers in-game however they would
be able to Lock, Move etc on the forums. They would be within a forum
group allowing them to do this and would also have a forum rank.
- Global Moderators would have both the powers of in-game Moderators
and forum Moderators, allowing them forum moderation and server
moderation.
Administrators:
- To start with I suggest having two Administrators and from there
increasing the number of Admins as player numbers increase (1 Admin to
every 5 - 10 players after original two - or maybe that's a little
generous)
- Admins would have powers on the server and forums and also have
moderating abilities on the forums (trusted Admins would also have
forum admin rights as well)
- Admins would also have group rights and a rank
Co-Owner / Head Administrator / Head of Staff (or whatever you want to
call it):
- Just one of these, they would be the user that other members of
staff would turn to if they needed anything, meaning that it leaves
John to do what he does best without being harassed![Razz](https://2img.net/i/fa/i/smiles/icon_razz.gif)
- Forum powers (allowing them to access the Admin panel) and also
would be able to have powers on the server.
- Would have forum rank and group.
Founder(s): John
* Adminstrators and Moderators with forum powers would be able to
access a Moderator panel if we are using forum software with this
function
Additional:
Beta testers:
- Anyone who is willing to get on the server during the beta testing
phrase and give feedback to any developers working on the server.
(anyone should be able to access the server during the beta testing
phrase however this rank should only be given to people willing to
give feedback)
- Beta testers would also be responsible for giving feedback to
developers on bugs when we're out of beta testing stage (this job
shouldn't be restricted to beta testers though and other staff members
should also be doing this sort of thing)
- A good step to becoming a Moderator and would make users looking
for Moderator stand out above those that don't have this experience.
- Would have a forum rank rather than group that would display to
other forum users that they are a beta tester.
Media team / Advertising team (maybe split these?):
- Would be a team to turn to for media things (such as videos for
Youtube etc) and would also be responsible for the wording of things
like vote site descriptions and advertising on other websites etc.
- forum rank.
GFX team:
- more of a informal team however it would let other users know who
we trust as good trustworthy GFX people.
- forum rank
Donators:
- People who donate to Powerscape
- Forum rank and would be able to access premium-only items and areas
on the server
Banned:
- People who've been banned from Powerscape
- Forum group meaning limited access to the forums and no access to the server (this might be for a period of time or permanent basis)
