vps for the server!!@!

ok goys as you proboably know the server powerscape does not have a vps so it closes every day at a sertan time. Also as you might know we dont have a vps because it costs cash so it got me thinking, for the cash we could put advertisments on our fourms and on the server at places like the verry top or when you log in( like runescape does on their homepage).and we could use the cash we get form the advertisments for the vps and other things. tell me what you think =] also i wanna give a little shout out to john he taught me how to make the desktop client work you rock john tysm!!

Google ads aren't the best way to do it...

You get paid per click of the ad (and how often do you click google ads??)
You also get paid if a company pays google to advertise on your site, however this probably wouldn't happen seeing as how we're just a small website

the company pays google to advertise, they pay google per person that goes to their website and google pays us. they dont lose money if no one clicks it

i applied to get text adverts last week froma company, but we didnt have enough traffic apparently.

i recommend moving off free forums to do adverts like that, you can only add widgets for adverts here, and some companies want more

Also on the topic of VPS for the server, we appear to either be getting people who are trying to connect and cannot because the server is offline or because they aren't the brightest spark so we need to make it clearer how to play the webclient (maybe find a way they don't have to download the cache manually if at all) and also making it clearer where the client it (Even I cannot find it )

well we need something for the server,people are getting kicked as soon as they log in.i think getting a vps would work,but the bad tihng is,we dont have staff on all the time to watch people...

i think, when people first log in, and the server makes there account, their client crashes :\

Free forums is not a good option, it was a good substitute for smfforfree2

well tbh, im fine here we have reasonably good traffic per day (about 250 guests) and a non-expiring domain name. We just need to get those guests to stay!

We dont have everything, and john i know its hard to make you move because first time it was, but you have to see advantages, the forum name does not matter its whats inside that counts

forum does matter,and its not always "whats inside that counts". its what THERE whats counts.

we may need a vps,but not exactly now.

stop talking we need a vps, i think we need to hear that once, and trust me a servers forum can really affect its maximum user cap

but atm buying a vps NOW would be pointless...leave the vps untill we get abit more players.

crash is right the server has some inconvinience when it comes to people trying to start up but cant because of downtime and alot of the (well say viewing public for lack of words atm) viewing public have very very short attention spans and don't like to work to get on a game ( as fat and retarted as they may be) those people could be helpfull to the population growth and server itself now how to keep them comming im just as educated as you guys the best idea i have is vps as well but i suggest we string together a team of ppls to take other servers by storm and spam the hell outta every high traffic area during uptime so that they try the serv and get on atleast once to keep them commin for more more players = more ppl to donate more donations leads to vps and or w.e else we need and i know its un ethical and you wouldnt want ppl commin on power scape and spamming but weve got like 20 users that i see daily lol so i dunno how badly u guys want more people on the server but i have a few servers still on my comp that i have some pretty high enfluence on and i could atleast try to direct a few players over if anyone else wants to try there are plenty of underhanded crap servers with pile and piles of players looking for a good server to play on and power scape im guessing will be more than glad to take them in ?
